Two of My Favorite Things: Children and Christmas!

A perpetual smile is on my face!  The happiness of children this season is contagious, and I am dangerously close to picking up each child that comes in and dancing to "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree".

Today, a Grandmother came in early with a plan: she purchased two special toys for her grandchildren, and made Mr. Jim promise to tell them that Santa had come by early to leave them a treat at the store. She soon came back with the children.

If you could have seen the little boy's face as he looked first with wonder and amazement, and then with pure joy at the early gift. He dropped to the floor with his prize and hugged first the toy, and then his grandmother's legs.

Then, in the joy that giving gifts brings, two little girls came with their Mom to Lark to shop. Secretly, each girl came to me while hiding a special treat she had found for her sister or her mother under her sweater.  She deposited the "secret gift" in my hands to wrap before anyone could see what she had chosen.

As they were collecting all of their "secrets" in bags to carry out, they could't stand still - the excitement of choosing something wonderful for someone they loved was causing them to hop up and down on tiptoes!

And, for me, I can honestly say I am hopping up and down with excitement and love too!  We just spent a happy week-end with two granddaughters that I love dearly.

All of us at Little Lambs & Ivy wish that you, too, will find the joy and love that Christmas brings this season.

Go ahead!  Dance your little heart out!

Thoughts on Families and Thanksgiving

Heredity: An omnibus in which all our ancestors ride, and every now and then one of them puts his head out and embarrasses us.

Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast.

Love wholeheartedly, be surprised, give thanks and praise.....then you will discover the fullness of life.

As Thanksgiving approaches, each of us is filled with thoughts of home, loved ones, happy memories, and stories about crazy kin.  Cherish each moment with your loved ones!

Dress Them Cute Before They Grow Up!

Days and weeks and years fly by, especially when you have a baby growing right before your eyes.

A young mother said just this week, " I put her to bed last night one size, and this morning, when I got her up, I knew she had grown in the night."  It's true what they say, "Just blink and they're grown."

So, our mantra at Little Lambs is this: Dress them cute before they grow up.  Your window of opportunity is so short, but your memories will last a lifetime.

How adorable!  A Margareta Horn Sweet Pea hat is just like icing on a cupcake!
